farmhouse decor succulent plants
I used black pepper containers from Dollar Tree
Boil some water either in a microwave safe bowl or on the stove top
Place the empty black pepper container in the hot water (lid side down).
There is adhesive holding the plastic lids on and this will melt the adhesive
so you can pop them off
The containers will be very hot so I used an oven mitt
Then I used a can opener to pop off the tops (don’t use a knife or anything
sharp)
If your container is not already cleaned out do that now
Once container is dry – I used white chalk paint to paint all sides
Set aside and let dry
Next I couldn’t find magnets and the Dollar Tree (it would be a better
option if you can find them). So I used the magnet from the back of this
notepad
I cut the magnet into 3 pieces since I was making 3 containers
Hot glue the magnets to the pepper containers (once dry)
Next I printed out my words on to a piece of tissue paper I taped to a piece
of card stock (this ran thru my printer with no problem)
Cut out each word and place on container how you would like
With a fine Sharpie Marker trace around and color in
Here are each of mine π
Now you will need a piece of floral foam also from Dollar Tree
Cut to size so it fits inside
Now I got a few faux succulents from the Dollar Tree
They are just stuck into some Styrofoam – so just carefully pull out the
succulent
Place the succulent in the floral foam
And now you can hang on fridge! I love how these turned out!
Sue says
I do like the succulent planters. I have several from last year still in their pots and think I will leave them in those pots and just paint words on the front and add magnets. Thank you for a great idea.
