If you don’t want to use a highlighter you could always use a marker. You can create so many vibrant and colorful nail polish bottle colors. Crafts With Nail Polish Bottles | DIY School Supplies | Pens & Pencils Ideas
You will need nail polish bottle(s) – Recycle a nail polish bottle
Next you will need nail polish remover
Pour into nail polish bottle
Put lid back on and shake
Empty into bowl or cup (repeat this process several times – unitl bottle is clean)
Wash out with warm soapy water – it should look like this when done
Remove brush from lid
Clean out lid with nail polish remover and q-tip
Both should be clean at this point
Next you will need Mod Podge
Pour some Mod Podge into a bowl
Get some food coloring (any color) – love these ones here
Add a few drops to the Mod Podge
Stir together
Pour Mod Podge mixture into nail polish bottle
Swirl around until fully coated
Turn upside down to dry
Here is what is should look like when dry (a nice sea glass finish)
Now you will need some highlighter markers
Remove the highlighter ink
Push the tip into the highlighter ink
It should look like this
Place it next to nail polish bottle and cut down to size to fit
Hot glue around top of nail polish bottle
Place highlighter in nail polish bottle
Here is the homemade nail polish bottle highlighter
Place the lid back on
That’s all there is to these easy DIY nail polish highlighter markers!
Now you can take it school and pull out your nail polish and highlight with it 🙂

Now that you know what to do with unwanted nail polish bottles it’s time to put those bottles to use and make some DIY school supplies.
