Ingredients
  

For the hoagie rolls:

  • 2 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 3 ounce Cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cup Almond flour
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 Egg

For the filling:

  • 4 Italian sausages (choose a natural carb friendly version with 0 net carbs)
  • ½ cup Carb friendly marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ½ cup Sliced bell peppers
  • ¼ cup Sliced onions
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place the mozzarella and cream cheese for the hoagies into a microwave safe bowl, and heat at 30 second intervals until completely melted and combined.
  • Add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, almond flour and baking powder to the cheese mixture, and knead with your hands until completely combined.
  • Beat the egg into the dough mixture on high until combined.
  • Place the dough into the freezer to chill for 15 minutes.
  • Wet your hands slightly, and form the chilled dough into 4 different hoagie shaped rolls, and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Let the rolls cool while you cook the sausages completely, and saute the onions and peppers on the stove top in the olive oil.
  • Raise the temperature of the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Cut each hoagie roll open in half lengthwise, but do not cut all of the way through. Place some onions and peppers on each roll, then a sausage, and top with marinara sauce and then mozzarella cheese. You can add some Italian seasoning for garnish if you wish.
  • Layer the hoagies in a baking dish, and bake for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Net Carbs: 10 net carbs per hoagie (or cut in half to make 5 net carbs each) half is really filling
