Perfect for holiday parties, Christmas celebrations, or cozy winter evenings by the fireplace, this margarita brings together tart cranberry juice, smooth tequila, orange liqueur, and just a hint of peppermint extract. Topped with sparkling seltzer water and crushed candy canes, every sip delivers the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing flavors that will have your guests asking for the recipe!
How To Make Candy Cane Margarita
Step 1. I always start by preparing the glass first – it makes such a difference in presentation! Run a lime wedge along the rim of your cocktail glass to moisten it, then dip the rim in sugar so it sticks nicely. Add ice cubes to the glass and set it aside while you prepare the cocktail mixture.

Step 2. Now for the fun part – making the margarita! In a cocktail shaker, I combine the cranberry juice, tequila, orange liqueur, and peppermint extract. I like to shake this mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to get it really well combined and chilled. Then pour the beautiful red cocktail mixture over the ice in your prepared glass.

Step 3. This is where the magic happens – top your margarita with raspberry seltzer water! I love how the bubbles add a festive sparkle and the slight fizz makes each sip so refreshing. Pour slowly so you don’t lose all those lovely bubbles.

Step 4. For the final festive touch, I sprinkle crushed candy canes right on top of the drink – it looks so pretty and adds that perfect peppermint crunch. Then add a whole candy cane as a garnish and straw. The presentation is absolutely stunning and tastes even better!
