These are so good! I melted the butter and added to and used a cup of buttermilk not milk. Added about 1/4-1/2 ground cayenne pepper to biscuit dough dry ingredients. Also I used what I had for flour, self rising dropping the baking powder from 1 Tablespoon to 1 1/2 teaspoons. Added the cheese about 1 1/2-2 cups of Tillamook Extra Sharp. It really Makes a Difference.
I know I did a lot of tweaking on this fresh parsley in garlic butter.

Can I mix the dough and put it in the refrigerator until ready to bake? I want to make the dough here but put in the oven at my friends house at dinner time.
Doug Mah says
Sure, bake at your friends. Easy…What I did was put all the dry ingredients (See note 1 below) in a covered bowl and a separate jar of cold milk. When I got to my friends, preheated their oven. Then I just gently folded in the milk until everything seems wet. (See note 2). Takes just a minute to do that. . I even brought my own baking sheet and parchment paper to make things even simpler.
Rave reviews when warm and fresh right out of the oven
Note 1: I used cold or even slightly frozen butter cubes.
In the prep at home, I put all the dry ingredients except the shredded cheese into a food processor and processed in the small pieces of cold butter. Do not overprocess but process just until mixture appears mealy and crumbly. The cold butter should stay cold enough until you get to your friends.
and then gently fold in the shredded cheese (See note 3) before poring into your carrying bowl.
Note 2: I used 1 cup of buttermilk instead
Note 3: I also froze the shredded cheese
Note to Kim: Many Thanks for a truly great and amazing simple Cheese Bay recipe. Best of all recipes that I tried and much better than eating at Red Lobster.

I made these last night and I didn’t have any dairy milk so I had to make some oat milk they didn’t look great and didn’t know if they would be good but they were it did taste like something was missing and of course it was the fats from the dairy milk. Can’t wait to make them the right way… I can already tell they are going to be great!!!
